Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole calls on Canadians to vote out corrupt Trudeau government

Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Erin O’Toole, Leader of Canada’s Conservatives and the Official Opposition, issued the following statement after the Trudeau government voted against a successful Conservative motion to formally censure the Minister of National Defence, the Hon. Harjit Sajjan:

“Yesterday, Justin Trudeau and his corrupt Liberal government voted against the brave women in our Canadian Armed Forces who stepped up to make their voices heard. The Prime Minister has made it clear that he is no ally to women, and that eliminating sexual misconduct in our military is not his problem.

“Justin Trudeau won’t fire Minister Sajjan, and Minister Sajjan won’t resign. Canadians want the scandals, corruption, and cover-ups that have taken root in Liberal Ottawa to end.

“The decision to fire Justin Trudeau and Minister Sajjan will ultimately be made by voters, but it is clear from yesterday’s vote that nothing will change while the Trudeau Liberals remain in power.

“More scandals. More corruption. More cover-ups. That is what Canadians can expect from Justin Trudeau and the Liberals. There is only one choice to end the corruption in Ottawa, and that is Canada’s Conservatives.

“As part of our five-point Canada recovery plan, Conservatives will secure government accountability by enacting the toughest accountability and transparency laws in Canada’s history.”
