Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Erin O’Toole, Leader of Canada’s Conservatives and the Leader of the Official Opposition, issued the following statement on the use of Liberal Party of Canada resources to vet federal judges and ensure they support Justin Trudeau:

“Previously, when the Minister of Justice was first asked about officials at the Liberal Party of Canada being vetted as judges, he denied this fact and said it wasn’t true. 

“But, through media reports, we now know that the Trudeau government has been covering up the fact that all judges appointed are first vetted by officials at the Liberal Party of Canada to ensure these judges support Justin Trudeau.

“Canada’s Conservatives have serious questions about the unethical, and corrupt nature of these appointments that Justin Trudeau must answer for. 

“Canada cannot afford to have further scandal and more of the same corruption from Justin Trudeau and the Liberals. Why did the Justice Minister mislead Canadians, and what is he trying to cover up for the Prime Minister?

“More scandals. More corruption. More cover-ups. That is what Canadians can expect from Justin Trudeau and the Liberals. There is only one choice to end their corruption and secure accountability in Ottawa – Canada’s Conservatives.”
