Ottawa, ON – James Bezan, Conservative Shadow Minister for National Defence, and Michael Barrett, Conservative Shadow Minister for Ethics, released the following statement calling on the Liberals to end their coordinated cover-up at the Defence and Ethics Committees:
“Today, Liberal MPs on both the Defence and Ethics committee took part in a coordinated campaign to block key witnesses from testifying on both the WE Charity scandal and the Liberal cover-up of sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces.
“This reflexive action by the Trudeau Liberals to cover-up information once again highlights the lengths that the Liberals will go to hide the truth from Canadians.
“What Conservatives are asking for is simple. Key players in both the WE Charity scandal and the Liberal cover-up of sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces must tell Canadians what they know. Anything less is unacceptable.
“This trend of unethical behaviour by the Trudeau Liberals must stop. Conservatives are calling on the Liberals to end their coordinated cover-up at the Defence and Ethics Committees.
“Canadians deserve answers on what took place during these two Liberal scandals. Conservatives will keep fighting to get the answers that Canadians are calling for.”
