Ottawa, ON – Michael Barrett, Conservative Shadow Minister for Ethics, and Gérard Deltell, House Leader of the Official Opposition, released the following statement on the Conservative Opposition Day motion fighting back against the Liberal cover-up:
“As we have seen time and time again, the Trudeau Liberals will go to great lengths to hide the truth from Canadians. This includes shutting down Parliament during a pandemic.
“Currently, the Liberals are conducting a coordinated cover-up campaign to block witnesses from testifying on both Trudeau’s WE scandal and sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces. The simple fact is the Liberals don’t want these key witnesses to tell Canadians what they know. They don’t want the truth to get out.
“That’s why Conservatives are moving a motion today to force these critical witnesses – or Justin Trudeau himself – to testify before committee. We cannot allow the Trudeau Liberals to hide the truth from Canadians.
“The Trudeau government’s coordinated cover-up of sexual misconduct and corruption must end. Conservatives will continue to take action against the Liberal cover-up and get answers for Canadians.”
