Ottawa, ON – The Hon. Candice Bergen, Conservative Party Leader and Leader of the Official Opposition, today announced a change to the Leadership Team.
The Hon. Tim Uppal, MP Edmonton Mill Woods, will be stepping down from his position as the Chair of Outreach as he will be taking an active role in the leadership campaign of the Hon. Pierre Poilievre.
“I want to thank the Leader for the opportunity to serve in this important role, and for her leadership in Caucus and on the Leadership Team,” Uppal said. “I look forward to contributing to Caucus through other avenues.”
“Tim has been a great addition to our Leadership Team and I thank him for his contributions,” said Bergen.
Bergen has asked Melissa Lantsman, MP for Thornhill, to join the Leadership Team as the Chair of Outreach. This is in addition to her role as Shadow Minister for Transport.
“I am so pleased to have Melissa join us in this role. She has done extensive work reaching out to stakeholders and communities in her role as Shadow Transport Minister and as an MP. I know she will bring a great perspective to her new position.”
